World Whale Day – February 18th (Annually)
This is an annual celebration to honour humpback whales that was founded in Maui, Hawaii, in 1980. It is now celebrated internationally.


Dolphin Day – 14th April (Annually)
Dolphin Day is perhaps one of the most well-known unofficial holidays of the world.

Humpback Whale Migration – The Early Starters
During April Humpback whales may start to appear in small numbers off the Australian / New Zealand Coasts.

Around July Southern Right Whales start to appear along the Australian / New Zealand coasts.

Southern Right Whales Migration – Peak Season
Around mid August to mid September Southern Right Whales appear in numbers along the Australian southern coast – particularly in South Australia.



International Day of Awareness of the Dolphins of Taiji

An international day of awareness that marks the beginning of the dolphin drive hunt season in Taiji, Japan.

Humpback Whale Migration – Start of the Southern Migration
From early September the Humpback whales start their return southern migration.

During October the Humpback migration is in full flight! This is some of the best whale watching all year as the mum with their new born calves are retuning down the coast.
